The City Emblem
The design of the city emblem is based on the kanji character and the katakana symbol for tree.
A shape of a heart with three arterial branches represents the vibrancy of the city. The heart represented by an equilateral triangle, is an illustration of the harmony between heaven, earth, and man and is a symbol of future development. It was adopted in July 1954. |

The City Flag
The flag is made up of a combination of three white carpenter's squares on a navy blue background. It was adopted in August, 1966 |

The city flower are Satsuki or Azalea,sasanqua and the city tree is the Matsu or Pine-tree. |
